Osteopathy is a natural medicine specializing in the treatment of functional disorders. It considers that any loss of mobility in one or more structures of the human body (musculoskeletal, visceral, facial, cranial, etc.) can cause an imbalance in the state of health. This therapy approaches the human being as a whole, with the aim of restoring the body's normal mobility so that it can heal itself and regain overall functional balance. It looks for the cause of the disease (or symptom), taking into account all mobility restrictions and their interactions.

Osteopathy is concerned with all levels of body function, and everyone can benefit from osteopathic treatment: from babies to the elderly, as well as pregnant women and athletes.

Osteopathy is both a preventive and curative therapy.

Osteopaths work with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology. He considers the body as an entity: "Man is a whole", and therefore seeks the cause of disease by understanding his patient as a whole. He treats his patients using manual techniques (mainly) adapted to each individual and each osteopathic lesion. The osteopath does not prescribe medication, but may use additional tests (X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, blood tests, etc.) to confirm his or her osteopathic diagnosis or, on the contrary, to identify a pathology that does not fall within the scope of osteopathy. In this case, the osteopath makes a differential diagnosis and refers the patient to a general practitioner or specialist. Osteopathic medicine is therefore complementary to traditional medicine (drugs), and in no way replaces it.
