History of osteopathy
Dr. Andrew Taylor Still founded osteopathy at the end of the 19th century in America.
To this day, his fundamental insights form the foundation of osteopathic therapy.
The view of the organism as a unit, the importance of the life-giving mobility of all tissues in the body, as well as its ability to self-regulate and the close connection between structure and function of all parts.
The osteopathic treatment
After a detailed anamnesis, diagnosis and therapy take place.
The osteopath feels and palpates the whole body and looks for reduced mobility in all structures of the body.
The muscles, ligaments, nerve cords, organs and bones are all interconnected, which means that complaints can occur without the structure itself being affected. The osteopath therefore does not always work on the apparently painful area, but looks for the original area of tension.
