Osteopathy has the goal of restoring disturbed body functions. The body is a functional unit. If one area is disturbed, this has an effect on the rest of the body. If an organ is restricted in its function, this has an effect on the musculoskeletal system and vice versa. If the blood cannot circulate freely, the tissues are poorly nourished, which weakens the body's functions. The self-healing forces support the body in staying healthy or getting healthy again. Osteopathy deals with the craniosacral force, the musculoskeletal system and the organs.

Craniosacral work: The craniosacral movement supports the healing process. What is the craniosacral movement? Our brain and spinal cord are surrounded by cerebrospinal fluid. The CSF moves like a water wave. The brain and spinal cord are surrounded by meninges, these are attached to the bones of the skull, the upper cervical vertebrae and the sacrum. The meninges transmit the wave-like motion to the cranial bones and sacrum. In a healthy person, the craniosacral movement is expressed throughout the body.

Locomotor system: After accidents or after a fall, the movement of the affected joint may be limited. Maintaining or regaining the normal mobility of the body is the goal of osteopathic treatment. An intake interview and evaluation of the affected body regions provide the osteopath with the necessary information to draw up a treatment plan.

Treatment of the organs: Organs and the musculoskeletal system are connected by the fasciae. The nerves that supply the organs exit between the vertebrae. If the spine is strained, the exiting nerve can no longer innervate the organ sufficiently. The organ in question can no longer function optimally. Conversely, a weakened organ can cause pain. If the organ is the main reason for the discomfort, it is necessary to treat the organ, otherwise the discomfort will always return.
