Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a holistic form of therapy aimed at restoring functional balance in the body. Osteopathy helps with back pain, neck pain, headaches and joint problems, as well as digestive problems, sleep disorders, migraines and general malaise. During and after pregnancy, osteopathic treatment can help both mother and child. The special conditions of the young child have an influence on the treatment methods of the therapist who uses osteopathy in children.

Treatment

The osteopath treats the spine, shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, foot, but also the internal organs such as liver, kidney, small intestine, colon, etc.. Restricted joints and structures are thus made mobile again by short, rapid impulses. The loss of movement of the internal organs is treated by external techniques in the abdomen. Osteopathic treatment is usually short and intensive. After two to four treatments, a significant reduction in symptoms should be noticeable.

Occupation

With origins in the second half of the 19th century, the practice of osteopathic medicine has now become an independent profession that requires several years of training.

Babies and infants

0 till 1 year

Babies are subject to various influences during pregnancy and birth that can cause problems in newborns, including torticollis, crying, spitting up, and intestinal colic.

Infants

1 to 5 years

Since the child can usually sit properly from the age of one and begins to walk, asymmetries may now become noticeable again. Discuss these also now first with your doctor.

School children and adolescents

from 6 years

If your child is in puberty, ask him/her if you may be present (at least for the first treatment). If the child is a minor, the presence of the father or mother is desired from the osteopathic side. It creates more clarity, prevents misunderstandings and sometimes children want to talk about their treatment at home.
