Identify and treat the cause of pain The body works because it moves; when a movement is restricted, the body finds adaptations and compensations to avoid feeling pain and to maintain the best possible function. When the adaptations and compensations are no longer sufficient, our body alerts us with an alarm bell causing a sensation of pain. Through movement tests we try to identify the cause of pain and then apply special muscle, joint, and tissue relaxation maneuvers: these have not only mechanical, but mainly biochemical effects, as they stimulate proper fluid exchange within the treated structures. These are muscle-facing techniques that employ continuous palpatory feedback to achieve myofascial tissue relaxation. These techniques are applied to musculoskeletal disorders, pain, and tension of a person's global state, with the goal of improving the patient's health.
